The Training To Save Your Life: Gun Training
Gun training is a stupidly scary thing in America today. Americans are told by the news, by newspapers, and by ultra conservatives and liberals alike that guns are dangerous tools utilized only by harbingers of death and doom. Such assertions and ridiculous thoughts are nothing more than the random, inactive carping of uneducated, untrained men and women. Front Sight Firearms Training Institute, America's largest gun training school, is doing its utmost to get people away from that point of view and more towards the one that helps more people on more levels: firearms are only as scary as you allow them to be, and the thing that makes them less scary is firearms training.
Dr. Ignatius Piazza is the founder and director of Front Sight. His approach to delivering firearms training is obvious: every American should have it. His opinion is strong, and it's for good reason. A few years ago, with no formal gun training or military or police background, Dr. Piazza's home and neighborhood were attacked in a random drive-by shooting. As he took cover on the floor of his living room, he realized that if the hooligans made a home entry, he would have no way of stopping them. They would be armed, he wouldn't be.
From that point on Dr. Piazza had two missions: one, get the most and best firearms training available on the planet. Two, make that firearms training available to every single American so that all of America could be a safe place where gun-toting criminals don't have a chance against fully armed, fully trained, law-abiding citizens. He has been doing just that for over a decade now. Dr. Piazza's pet project, Front Sight, delivers gun training to more students than all other shooting schools in America combined. He is rapidly training America to be a safer community.
